To the world, you may be just one person, but to a feral kitty, you are the world.

VOLUNTEER

Help us make a difference in the lives of feral cats by joining our dedicated team of volunteers. Your support is crucial in providing care and sustenance to over 70 cats daily across 26 colonies.

Check out this volunteer-created video that highlights what it’s like to feed community cats.

Help us care for our community cats.  Feeding a cat colony is as easy as 1-2-3-4!  Plus, you’ll have an instant fan club!

Grab the food and go to the colony.  Take along a trash bag, clean water, clean plates. Dish it up! Pick up dirty dishes, take home, wash, return on next visit.  Make sure they have clean water.  Remove any trash from the feeding area. Need a substitute for one of your feeding days?  Ask your fellow feeders.  They’re accommodating! Need food?  We can help! The cats will learn who you are and even run to greet you by the sight and sound of your car.  Your eyes and ears on the colony are vital to make sure they’re OK, new ones are fixed and the area is in good shape.

Help us prepare adoptable kittens and cats for a new life in a home by temporarily fostering one or several kitties.  We supply everything, including kitties!

Prepare a small room or cage (we have!) for the kitties.  Limit their initial ‘free roaming’ time at first and watch them carefully. We have food, bedding, litter, bowls, plates—whatever you need!   “Install” the kitties and let them get used to their new temporary home.  We can show you how to bottle feed if there is no mom. Socialize the kitties by petting, brushing,  talking, playing with toys, letting them explore while supervised. When time is right, the kitties will be placed for adoption.  Repeat steps 1 to 3! We thank you, and the kitties will love you for caring for them.

Help us control and care for our community cat population. Trapping a cat is as easy as 1-2-3-4!  We have traps!  We show you how!  We even have sardines!  (For them…not you wink)

Get the trap, put bait in, close bait end, set entry door open.  Place trap where cats hang out. Kitty goes in, steps on trip plate near bait, door closes.  Cover the trap to keep him calm.  Cat already fixed (left ear tipped)?  Let her go. Drop the kitty off at LifeLine on Sullivan Rd., College Park at 7:30 AM Mon-Thurs.  Bring kitty home 4:30ish. Keep in trap overnight.  Give a little food with water.  Careful! No escapes please!  Next morning, return to exact spot where trapped.  Open whichever end kitty is facing.  Make sure kitty exits AWAY from any hazard/street.  GOOD JOB!

Help us care for our community cats. Transporting and overnighting is as easy as 1-2-3-4!  Caring folks who’ve done the trapping sometimes have no transportation or have work schedule conflicts.  You can help!

TO LIFELINE

Pick up trapped kitty from trapper and take to LifeLine, arrive by 7:30 AM Mon-Thurs.

FROM LIFELINE

Pick up kitty who has now had spay/neuter surgery by 5 PM.

RETURN KITTY TO TRAPPER

Take kitty back to trapper’s home or to another volunteer who may overnight the kitty.

OVERNIGHTING

If you are overnighting the recuperating kitty, keep him quiet, trap covered, in safe place.  Give a little food (open trap just a tiny bit to slide it in).  Return kitty the following morning to the trapper so they can release him/her.

We’re looking for one or more people to help us recruit, train and schedule volunteers for various jobs!
